Volume Discounts
Hi there! 👋
This one is an easy win.
Find out the average number of each SKU customers buy per order. If that number is more than 1, then your customers are already buying multiple units.
Here’s how to leverage that:
Create an incentive for them to buy even more—just above the average.
It's like setting a free shipping threshold around the AOV. It encourages a slightly bigger basket.
In your backend, check the Sales By Product report. Identify SKUs with multiple units per order.
For these SKUs:
→ Use volume pricing.
→ Implement tiered pricing.
→ Set discounts that kick in above the average volume.
It takes all of an hour to set up.
Why does this work?
→ It leverages natural buying behavior.
→ It’s a simple adjustment with significant impact.
→ Customers feel rewarded for buying more.
→ It’s an easy way to boost AOV and revenue.
Here’s an example:
You find customers buy 2.5 units on average. Set a discount for buying 3 or more. This slight nudge increases basket size and perceived value.
Take these steps, and you’ll start to see your AOVs and revenue increase quickly.
Stay tuned, have a great Sunday!
